WASHINGTON – ���ĺ���APP team members joined the U.S. Postal Service in Washington, D.C. to celebrate —while also confronting the growing challenge of postal rate hikes. 

Since 1775, the postal service has provided trusted, secure communications for the American people. With a legacy that spans two centuries, the postal service continues to serve as a vital service that the country relies on. 

However, unprecedented postal rate increases continue to negatively affect the mailing industry, resulting in declining mail volume and adverse effects on paper manufacturers, businesses and consumers. 

���ĺ���APP manufactures almost one-third of the paper sent through the Postal Service and is at the forefront of advocacy for reliable, affordable service. 

During the anniversary week, ���ĺ���APP team members met with Postmaster General David Steiner and members of Congress to advocate for the USPS SERVES Act, designed to increase accountability and limit postal rate hikes. 

“Advocating on postal issues is more critical now than ever," said Laura Pickard, director, government relations at ���ĺ���APP. "We were pleased to meet the new Postmaster General and look forward to working together to ensure the USPS protects affordable access to the mail.”
